The masterpiece of an American composer, now, unfortunately forever linked to the movie "Platoon". This piece has never left my consciousness since the first time I heard it. (Of course it was in "Platoon".) How someone can create something like this is an obsessional mystery well beyond my understanding. I especially like this YouTube Version of it, however I still believe, despite its connection with war and the horror of 9/11, this is an extremely uplifting example of musical transcendence toward sublime peace.
