I love the story about Robert Schumann and his sense of humor. In his Sonata No.2 in G Minor Op.22, he gave the following instructions for the performer. "So Rasch Vie Moglich", i.e. as fast as possible. Then later in the same movement he instructs "Schneller", faster and again slightly later "Noch Schneller", still faster. That is my kind of guy.
